Zerorez - Carpet Cleaning Service Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Customer service has contacted us and apologized for the price. They offered a $300 + tax refund which brings the price down to about $390 (after the military discount). This completely changes how I feel as this is a fair price for the work that was done by a very nice technician.
We have pet odor on our basement carpet and decided to call zerorez because we hear the ads on the radio. We were quoted the $139 for three rooms and told that the pet treatment may be up to $100 more.
No problem, we scheduled an appointment and the tech showed up Monday morning promptly at 8:30. She was very polite and when she smelled the basement and looked at the carpet under a black light she told me that the normal wall to wall cleaner would only bring the smells to the surface, making the problem worse. SO...she told me I needed the "step 2" treatment to fully clean through the pad to really eliminate the odor. She told me it would be an extra $60 per gallon of cleaner.
Not knowing anything about carpet cleaning and naively believing a sales person I agreed to this treatment. When she was done, I asked her if zerorez had a military discount. She said "yes, ah, 10% of $805 is.." WHAT????? How did the charge go from $139 to $805?
She told me she went through 10 gallons of cleaner. The room is 16' x 23' with a hallway that is 12' x 4'. Needless to say the carpet is soaking wet and I feel like a fool. I've been trying to get in touch with someone from the company but haven't had any luck yet.
If you go with zerorez, get the price up front and don't let them up sell you something you don't want or don't understand. I'm fairly certain they work off commission so it's in their best interest o charge you as much as they can.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
